Hello everyone, I am experiencing a severe and frustrating issue regarding the usage limits on the Ultra plan. I recently started working on a brand new, extremely simple project: building a basic calculator. There was no heavy pre-existing context, no massive codebase to analyze, and no complex background tasks. I was essentially starting from zero. Despite this minimal workload, I hit the usage limit and received a quota error in less than 30 minutes of active development. For an “Ultra” tier subscription, this kind of restriction feels incredibly disproportionate and disruptive. It makes it nearly impossible to sustain a normal, uninterrupted development workflow even for the simplest tasks. Has anyone else experienced this extremely rapid limit exhaustion when working on fresh, low-context projects? Is this a known bug with how the context window or usage is being calculated, or is this actually the intended behavior for the Ultra plan? Any insights or official clarifications would be highly appreciated.
Google hates Ultra users. They want us to cancel and leave.
Lots of people noticed this exact phenomenon back in March. Apparently they changed how the quotas are calculated, and introduced a new “feature” that allows you to burn your monthly and/or paid AI credits (the same that are used for video and image generation) if you turn on a toggle in the model settings. The same 30 minutes of usage can use 1000 ai credits, which is alarming since Ultra “only” comes with 25,000 for the whole month. Due to it now being a month since these changes AND ongoing connectivity issues with ZERO meaningful communication, unfortunately this appears to be very deliberate. I’ve searched around for alternatives, currently dabbling with Cline in VS Code and locally hosted models since it’s apparent that Google simply wishes for this product to die. I can’t even say that they hope that people’s sunk cost fallacy sets in and they “ride it out” since they literally have said NOTHING other than an extremely bizarre response from support that says “You need to wait 60 days after paying $100 for your limits to be lifted” which is complete and utter NONSENSE since I’m now on my 3rd month of Ultra after upgrading from Pro, which I also had for 3 month prior to upgrading, which means I’m well over 60 days and have paid more than $100, yet I have Claude quotas that make me feel like a free account. I have practically unlimited Gemini 3.1 usage with my usage patterns, but that means nothing since I can’t use it for half the day due to errors, and the output quality from Gemini has taken a STEEP decline over the past month, making it a time waster to use.
the problem is the antigravity team who convinced google about their capabilities and thus google got all of us into this issue by keeping this issue silenced, worse is that they keep accepting new subscriptions that gets burned all of our money in few minutes.
