[Ultra] Dramatic quota reduction after update — this needs an official explanation

Join the club and cancel

I was a long-time Pro subscriber and, to be fair, I managed to build a decent niche solution with it. For that I am greatful as value-to-cost was really high.

My plan was to move to Ultra early April to start working on a more commercial project but I saw this thread and got stinged by the new Pro quotas ("oh, TWO MEDIUM-SIZED PROMPTS IN A DAY!!! See you in a week!!”) so I moved to VS Code & Claude Max x20, occasionally supported by Jules for docs and some checks.

Two early observations:

  • with proper management (model / effort / thinking) I can go a loooong way with this plan
  • Gemini 3.1 code quality wasn’t bad, I mean it delivered the product, but now, with the fresh pair of “eyes”, it is evident that there are some glaring ineffciencies and, tbh, 1-2 security issues. I guess a learning curve for me as well.

Anyways, not looking back. And VS Code is much lighter memory-wise.

Edit - I am keeping my Pro plan for other non-dev related stuff but Ultra? No way.

Like many others, I’ve been a subscriber since day one but decided to cancel today. Without any proper answers from Google on this matter, the subscription is basically a scam in its current state.

What options do we have other than Gemini Google Pro or Ultra plan? In the similar spend range with better ability to code?

I’ve been using Claude Pro too ($20/month, same as GG One Pro).
The overall code quality from Opus 4.6 is slightly better than Gemini 3.1 IMO, while its quota is not generous, it’s definitely more usable than the current state we’re experiencing in Antigravity subscriptions.
If Claude Pro is not enough, I’m seriously thinking about upgrading to Max ($100-200/month) rather than paying for Antigravity unless the situation changed.

Based on my own experience; no doubt that Gemini’s output quality is much lower Anthropic’s. On a very well scoped topic and a short context: OK. Otherwise, unreliable; drift quickly.

To use my remaining credits, I tested what it would mean to work as before with consuming AI Credits - 25.000 credits would last around 2 days with what I was able and used to do before on the Ultra Plan - now tell me again this is a better deal. The Plan is already cancelled.

Same here as an Ultra user… Give us an answer or we’re out.

I’ve just cancelled the subscription

I subscribed Claude Max as well. Antigravity just completes my AI agents collection with a thorough Claude Opus 4.6 agent. But this could be easily replace with native Claude Code skills for tasks that need to process thoroughly.

It’s a new feature not a bug.

just restrict quota with no announcement is crazy. paid for the service and it suddenly goes crazy.

Good job Google
Canceled the Ultra Plan go Claude as well
Thank you for the past 4 months but no really thank you

well if you have a contract, you are bound to let your client know that t&c’s are gonna change before the start of next one, you just can’t tell them in the middle of the contract duration that you will let them get 1/5 of what’s been agreed upon. That’s extremely tragicomical to see google shoot itself in the foot.

Still no response from Google

Do not expect one - this isn’t a random thing happening, all the noise and reactions must have been expected so they will likely just wait until the dust settles. Then release something new at NEXT which might bring back an “I want this” but with that experience at least I am done for now, which I never thought I’d say as I am pretty much a fan of many Google solutions for over two decades.

In my test with enabled overages I burnt nearby 10k AI credits that day with a few hours break in between for BBQ. Hence, the Ultra Credits would last two days with complex work - not a general statement but my own experience based on what I am working on.

Even so Claude reduced the Quota as well, which shows how expensive the model it is to run, the decisions made by Google and explicitly ignoring the userbase is a clear signal on customer care.

Just bumping this thread for visibility. We need to keep this at the top of the list so Google support doesn’t “accidentally” forget we’re still dealing with this

Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. Please be assured that I have shared your feedback with our internal team for further review.
We appreciate your continued patience as we work to enhance the Antigravity experience.

Cancelled my Ultra today, most likely go with Claude Max 200. Doubt I’ll ever go back.

Google thinks we are paying AI to have Storage capacity? or to code with “generous quotas of Gemini Flash”? Flash is a joke for coding…
They should offer a subscription that is only for coding…. I dont want Gemini or credits everywhere, and I dont need storage; I just need to code, and to do it for real tasks, the ones that Gemini Flash is not able to complete……
