Hello,
I am unable to use the Gemini Live API. The WebSocket connection is rejected by Google with:
1008 (policy violation) Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.
The Google account is verified, including age/account requirements, phone verification. Google AI Studio does not display any warning, suspension or access problem.
I reproduced the issue with both:
gemini-3.1-flash-live-preview
and
gemini-2.5-flash-native-audio-preview-12-2025
The client successfully prepares the Live configuration and attempts to establish the Gemini Live session. The connection is then rejected by the Gemini API with the 1008 policy-violation response above.
The problem is reproducible and does not appear to be model-specific or voice-specific.
Could a Google/Gemini team member please check whether my project/account has an internal Gemini API access restriction or false-positive flag and, if necessary, request a manual review?
I can provide the Google Cloud Project ID privately if required.
I will not post my API key publicly.
Thank you.
Hello @Maison_Cognitive,
This error usually occurs when automated security checks restrict access to unbilled projects due to some signals. To resolve this, please consider adding prepayment credits to your project in Google AI Studio and linking an active Google Cloud Billing account in the Google Cloud Console to upgrade from the Free Tier.
If you have completed these steps and access is still restricted, please reply with your Google Cloud Project ID via private message so we can inspect your project status.
I’m getting the same error, but I don’t want to use the billing/payment method. Isn’t there any other way to fix this?
