This is exactly why we want 2.5 Pro back. I need to use it for actual production pipelines, and 3.1 Pro is currently running short.
What Google employees consider an âactive userâ is a complete black box. One of my API keys was stripped of its access simply because it went unused for a few days. Let Googleâs handling of this go down in history.

I wish to finish my âAutumn Imagenations & Re-Imaginationsâ project I started last year â only using the models that were available during autumn 2025 â, and also have some other project & research ideas for which I would need access to those models.
Paid access, 1 request per minute limitation and no ZDR option would be OK for me.
Iâm totally happy with the Playground workspace and I see no point for Google to remove Gemini 2.5 pro from it.
Nah, just bundle those models with the pro plan. No need for any extra stuff. We still want 2.5 pro back.
@Total_Anarchy: I perfectly understand why Pro subscribers are disappointed or annoyed that a stable Pro model isnât available to them. However, this doesnât affect me personally; Iâm not interested in subscriptions, only in pay-as-you-go. Hence my suggestion above.

We need Gemini 2.5 Pro back, and it should remain available in both the API and AI Studio. Iâm deeply disappointed by how Google pulled it so abruptly and without warning, and by how it has treated its users. This has completely destroyed our trust in Google. If Gemini 2.5 Pro doesnât come back, I have good reason to believe they will keep treating their models and their users this carelessly in the future. I will no longer use any of Googleâs Gemini AI services.

Yes brother. They should reconsider the decision regarding deprecation of Gemini 2.5 Pro Model! They should introduce it back in the Playground of AI Studio!

Unfortunately no. They are not currently answering any questions about the Gemini 2.5 Pro.
Isnât 2.5 pro atill available in the API? You can use it there still if you want.
But we pay for it with Google One subscription, so it should be available in AI Studio Playground.
Only those who frequently used the 2.5 Pro API in the past will be able to continue using it. I am accustomed to using it in the playground, so I am unable to access it.
Since I only used it via API, I still have access to Gemini 2.5pro, but like AI Playground, there is no telling when it might be suddenly shut down. In fact, a few days ago, Google abruptly changed the available models for the Free Tier and Pro Plans effective October 9th. Personally, I am dissatisfied with Googleâs sudden termination announcements and their âsurprise shutdownâ attitude (like AI Playground), and Gemini 2.5pro was a truly excellent model that felt human-like in prose, literature, and reasoning. I hope Google makes Gemini 2.5pro a legacy model, even if it is just a limited API, like Claude Opus3.
I started using 3.5 Flash until Gemini 2.5 Pro is back, but Gemini 3.5 Flash is a trash. It is generating many recitation block unnecessarily, I think AI Studio is no more user friendly! That Platform got killed by itâs own company!
Yeah they are never gonna bring it back sadly but its like this for every big corp they never listen to what people have to say.
Thatâs because most people quit easily.
