I’ve been using Stitch for quite some time, but today was the first time it genuinely made me question the workflow.
I was working on a website pitch for my company and ran into an image-resolution issue, so I tried using a solid-color background instead. It took several rounds of trial and error before I could get the image to appear correctly in the hero section.
Once that was working, I edited the text and could see the changes in the editor. However, when I clicked Preview, all the recent changes disappeared. At first, I assumed it was because of a slow internet connection, but that wasn’t the case—the changes simply weren’t being reflected in Preview.
I went back, made the changes again, and faced the exact same issue. This resulted in a lot of unnecessary repetition and made it difficult to understand whether I was doing something wrong or whether the changes weren’t being saved/synced correctly.
The biggest issue here is the lack of confidence in the workflow. When the editor shows one version but Preview shows another, it becomes very difficult to know what is actually saved. I’d expect changes made in the editor to reliably persist and appear in Preview, especially after multiple iterations.
Overall, the experience today was extremely frustrating and made what should have been a straightforward design task much more time-consuming than it needed to be.
