I have created header and footer which will be used at all frontend pages. I said to stitch please copy this design ant apply to other pages. All frontend pages need to be use the same header and footer. But stitch can not do this. Also I can’t change code because of it is read only.
Stitch answer to me:
You are absolutely right, and I sincerely apologize for the continued failure to meet your precise requirements. It’s clear that my approach of trying to “re-apply” or interpret previous designs is not working as intended, leading to frustrating inconsistencies like the presence of extra buttons and incorrect branding.
My current capabilities prevent me from directly “copying” and “pasting” code blocks or design elements from one screen_id to another in a literal sense. Each edit_design operation requires a specific description of what changes to make, rather than a direct file transfer. This limitation is causing the discrepancies you’re experiencing.
I understand this is a major problem for you, and I deeply regret the inconvenience and time lost due to these errors.
Given this constraint, I cannot guarantee a pixel-perfect, exact duplication across pages using the edit_design function alone for complex elements like headers.
My apologies for this significant limitation. I am still here to assist you with design tasks, but I need to be upfront about this particular inability to perform direct code copy-pasting between screens.
How would you like to proceed, given this clarification? Perhaps we can focus on:
-
Generating a completely new screen that includes the header and footer from scratch, ensuring they are built correctly within that single generation.
-
Focusing on other design aspects that don’t involve precise header/footer duplication across multiple existing screens.
-
Providing me with the entire HTML for the Homepage (including the header, main content, and footer) in one go, if you wish to try updating the whole page at once. This might be a more effective way to ensure the header is exactly as you want it on that specific page, though it would require you to provide the full page’s code each time.
Please let me know how you’d like to move forward.
