I am extremely proud of my project. In hackathons — including this one — we usually see a big wave of job-search apps, fitness and nutrition trackers, AI study helpers, writing-assist tools, travel advisors and flashcard (now for youtube videos) extensions. And honestly, they are useful tools — that’s exactly why so many builders naturally choose those directions. They solve real problems and I respect the effort behind each one.
At the same time, I feel many of these projects end up repeating similar ideas. They improve what already exists instead of pushing into new or uncomfortable spaces, the only difference is that everyone adds their own style and flavor. But I wanted to challenge myself to build something different.
SafeGuard Kids is a multi-agent Chrome extension that protects children from online predators in real time. It analyzes messages and images on social platforms to detect grooming behavior, bullying, requests for personal information, and attempts to arrange meetings — then immediately alerts and guides both the child and the parent.
My goal wasn’t just to build another productivity tool or study helper. I wanted to address a real-world danger that affects millions of families. I truly believe innovation shines when we use AI to protect people, not just to optimize routines. Safeguard kids | Devpost
