# Requesting allowlist access for Gemini Computer Use tool (Gemini Developer API)

Hi team,

I’m trying to use the Computer Use tool via the Gemini Developer API (not Vertex AI) and getting a `403 PERMISSION_DENIED` error (“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”) when calling `generateContent` with the computer\_use tool, even though the Generative Language API is enabled on my project.

Could you please grant allowlist access for Computer Use on this project?

- **Project ID:** gen-lang-client-00989770..
- **Project name:** Default Gemini Project
- **Created:** September 12, 2026
- **Billing status:** Free tier (no billing account attached)
- **Model tested:** gemini-3.6-flash (default in google-gemini/computer-use-preview reference implementation)
- **Use case:** internal automation tool for a small business (DronSolution d.o.o.) — a local “controller” that occasionally needs to navigate/click through our own web admin panels when a Claude-based assistant delegates a screen task to it

Getting a 403 API error response and / or seeing “Unavailable” next to your project in AI audio indicates a flag has been placed on your account. To proceed:

If you’re on the free tier with no billing attached, please try the below steps:

1. Check Model Availability & Rate Limits:

2. Ensure you have completed age verification by navigating to [Google Account Age Verification](https://myaccount.google.com/age-verification) and verifying date of birth in [Google Account Personal Info](https://myaccount.google.com/personal-info).

3. Complete[Phone Verification](https://myaccount.google.com/phone) and turn on[2-Step Verification (2SV)](https://myaccount.google.com/signinoptions/twosv) on the Google Account associated with your project.

4. Once age, phone and 2sv are configured, retry your request or create a new API key in[Google AI Studio](https://aistudio.google.com/).

5. If completing these steps still does not restore access (or if using a model requiring a paid tier), you might want to consider adding prepayment credits directly in[Google AI Studio](https://aistudio.google.com/) and/ or attaching a Google Cloud Billing account in the[Google Cloud Console](https://console.cloud.google.com/billing). Please note this will mean you lose your free tier quota.
