Hello Google AI / Gemini API Support Team,
I am requesting a review of my account’s Gemini API access and Free Tier status.
Some time ago, one of my Gemini API keys was accidentally exposed. I believe this may have resulted in abnormal or unauthorized API usage, which may have caused my account or API access to be flagged by Google’s security or abuse prevention systems.
Since then, I have been unable to use the Gemini API Free Tier on this account. Even after a long period without making any API requests, my first request still immediately returns the following error:
HTTP 429: Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota).
This issue has persisted for a long time and does not appear to be a normal daily quota or rate limit issue. The Free Tier seems to be unavailable or restricted for this account.
I understand that exposing an API key was my mistake, and I have taken steps to secure my API credentials and prevent this from happening again. I did not intentionally abuse the API or attempt to violate Google’s policies.
This restriction is now affecting my personal projects, which rely on the Gemini API. I would greatly appreciate it if the relevant team could review whether my account has an account-level security restriction, abuse flag, or quota restriction related to the previous API key exposure.
If possible, I kindly request that the restriction be removed or that my Gemini API Free Tier access be restored, so I can continue using the API for my legitimate projects.
Please let me know if you need any additional information, such as the affected Google Cloud Project ID or other account/project details.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Best regards
