Request for manual review – Gemini API project is Restricted

Hello Gemini API Team,

My Google AI Studio project is currently marked as Restricted.

All Gemini API generateContent requests return:

403 PERMISSION_DENIED
“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”

Project ID:
handy-buttress-506006-..

The project has one API key and no billing account.
I am trying to use the Gemini API for testing an open-source
Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations AI query assistant.

The use case is low-volume development/testing.
I am not using the API for scraping, spam, resale,
credential sharing, or automated abuse.

I have also tested the current Gemini models, including
Gemini 3.6 Flash, and all generateContent requests are rejected
with the same 403 error.

Could you please review the project/account restriction
and restore Gemini API access if this is a false positive?

Hi, This happens when automated systems flag your account due to suspicious activity. You should consider setting up billing. In most cases this is enough to clear any flag on your account. (Please note this will mean you lose your free tier quota).

Also try doing the below verifications:

  2. Upgrade to a Paid Tier:

    • If verifying your account does not restore access (or if using a model requiring a paid tier), you can unlock access by adding prepayment credits directly in Google AI Studio or attaching a Google Cloud Billing account in the Google Cloud Console.
