Project Layout Corrupted Across All Pages After Reopening Google Stitch

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a serious issue with a Google Stitch project and wanted to check if anyone else has experienced something similar.

I have been building my personal portfolio website in Stitch and the project was nearly ready to publish. Everything was working correctly, with proper layouts, spacing, and alignment across all pages.

After a break of approximately two weeks, I reopened the project to continue working on it. Upon reopening, I found that the layouts across all pages had become severely misaligned, despite no intentional changes being made to the project during that period.

A few observations:

  • The issue affects all pages within the project.

  • Content and images still exist.

  • Only the layout and structure seem to be broken.

  • The project was functioning normally before being reopened.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is there any way to restore a previous version, recover the original layout, or repair the project?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey @hello_Marble, we are sorry for the issue you’re facing! Could you please try opening the Agent Log, selecting the specific version or screen where the layout broke, and restoring it from there?

Additionally, you can use your DESIGN.md file to force the AI to remember exactly how your site is supposed to look. Please try these steps:

  1. Update your Layout Rules: Open the DESIGN.md file in your project editor. Make sure it explicitly states your general layout rules (e.g., ‘All pages should use standard alignment, consistent section padding, and responsive grids’). If it’s blank or missing detail, type a few quick bullet points about your structural layout in there and save it before retrying your prompt.

  2. Rebuild the Layout: If a particular screen is stubbornly refusing to align itself, create a brand-new blank page next to it and prompt the AI: ‘Generate a clean version of this page using the exact blueprint from DESIGN.md.’ This forces it to rebuild your layout perfectly clean from scratch!

Please try these methods and let me know if they help you out.
