Hello Google Gemini API team,
My paid Prepay Gemini API project is repeatedly returning:
503 UNAVAILABLE
“This model is currently experiencing high demand. Spikes in demand are usually temporary. Please try again later.”
Details:
- Model: gemini-3.7-flash
- Billing: Paid Prepay
- Positive prepaid balance: approximately ₹634
- API route: models.generate_content
- The failure happens even for a direct plain-text request: “Reply only with OK.”
- It also affects our production document-feedback application.
- First observed: 15 September 2026, approximately 08:24 UTC.
- We are not receiving 401, 403, or 429 errors.
Could you please check whether this is a project-specific or service-side availability issue, and advise on resolution?
I can provide the Google Cloud project ID privately if required. I will not share my API key.

503 errors are due to our services being temporarily overloaded. Please see this pinned post for suggestions on how to handle this.
