MedGemma for Improving Chronic Pain Outcomes

We recently used MedGemma within a multi-agent system, for improving chronic pain and opioid use disorder outcomes.

MedGemma was tasked with assessing whether a clinically defined pain spike occurred relative to patient-specific baselines. MedGemma was particularly strong at anchoring to baselines, applying threshold definitions consistently, and producing clear, structured determinations rather than narrative summaries.

In a constrained, definition-driven framework, it handled the pain spike assessment task more effectively than several general-purpose models we tested.

Hi @Navin_Kumar1 ,

Thank you for the kind words! We love seeing MedGemma outperform general-purpose models on strict, threshold-based tasks like this. This is a brilliant application of the model, and we really appreciate you sharing your insights with the broader community.

Yes, we have many more such applications to come, stay tuned! Thank you for continuing to release such cool products.
