I’m seeing a massive unexplained Gemini API usage and wanted to check if anyone else has experienced something similar.
On April 13th (1:40 AM – 7:45 AM CT), my account showed ~$9,792 in Gemini API usage. My normal monthly bill is around ~$300.
I noticed this around 10:00 am CT on April 13th, and immediately deleted the API Key.
A few important points:

I have only ever used
gemini-embedding-001, and that too very sparingly -
The usage includes multiple Gemini models I’ve never used or configured

There was no service activity running on my side during that time

I don’t currently see logs explaining the spike
Google support says billing is based on usage.
This appears to be anomalous usage that does not align with my configuration or historical patterns,
