Hello Antigravity Support Team,
I am writing to report that I lost my project chat history in Antigravity after reinstalling the application, and I would like to ask if it can be recovered from your servers.
Details:
- Workspace/Project name: Smart_City_Traffic_Project (also called TransitFlow)
- Approximate date/time of last activity in this chat: around August 14, 2026, 9:41 PM (IST, GMT+5:30)
- Issue occurred: after reinstalling the Antigravity application, this project’s chat history no longer appears in the sidebar
- I have already checked all local files, including state.vscdb, workspaceStorage, and the conversations/brain folders on my computer, but could not find the content locally
Could you please check if there is a server-side backup or trace of this conversation associated with my account that can be restored?
Thank you for your help.

Hi @LIKHITHA_VANJARANI ,
Thank you for writing in with the details of your project.
Antigravity does not sync or back up conversation history to any server. All chat history — including project conversations, transcripts, and agent logs — is stored exclusively on your local machine in the following directories:
- Antigravity IDE: `~/.gemini/antigravity-ide/conversations/`
- Antigravity 2.0 : `~/.gemini/antigravity/conversations/`
Since this data was never uploaded to the servers at any point, remote recovery is not possible.
When the application was reinstalled without preserving the above directories, the local conversation database was permanently removed as part of the reinstall process. The files you checked (`state.vscdb`, `workspaceStorage`, `conversations/brain`) confirm this — the data is no longer present locally.
To prevent this in future reinstalls, please back up the relevant directory before uninstalling:
- Antigravity IDE users : Back up `~/.gemini/antigravity-ide/`
- Antigravity 2.0 users : Back up `~/.gemini/antigravity/`
One Remaining Option
- If macOS Time Machine was active on your machine before the reinstall, you may be able to restore your data from a snapshot.
Could you please confirm whether macOS Time Machine was active on your machine before the reinstall?
