Hi Antigravity team,
I can’t sign in to Antigravity IDE with my personal Gmail account. After the browser sign-in succeeds, the IDE shows:
“There was an unexpected issue setting up your account. Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time.”
Details:
- Account: l…@gmail.com (personal Gmail)
- Started: Friday, Sept 25, 2026 (worked fine the week before)
- IDE version: [paste from Help → About]
- OS: [Windows / macOS / Linux]
- Plan: [Free / Google AI Pro]
- Country: India
What I’ve tried: [signed out and back in / removed app access in Google Account / checked birthday / tried another account]
Could someone check the eligibility flag on my account? Thank you.
Hi @Lingesh_M,
Welcome to the forum.
This error typically happens when Antigravity re-checks your account during sign-in and requires a one-time security verification (VALIDATION_REQUIRED), which Antigravity IDE currently doesn’t display directly in the setup window. Please try the following steps to trigger and complete the verification:
- Trigger verification via Antigravity 2.0 or Antigravity CLI: Sign in with the same personal Gmail account in either the standalone Antigravity 2.0 app or the Antigravity CLI, start a new conversation, and send a message—sending a prompt is required to surface the account verification link.
- Use an alternate verification method if the QR code hangs: There is a known issue where scanning the verification QR code can get stuck or fail to unblock the account. If that happens, open the verification link directly on an Android phone or tablet signed into your Google account and choose an alternate verification option (such as “Device check” instead of SMS).
- Sign back in on the latest Antigravity IDE (
v2.5.5): Once verification succeeds, return to Antigravity IDE (making sure you are on v2.5.5 per the Changelog) and sign in again. If the error still persists, please reply with your OS, exact IDE version from Help → About, and whether you are on the Free or Google AI Pro plan.
