Login blocked: "not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals" — backend returns 403 VALIDATION_REQUIRED

Antigravity IDE 2.5.5 (VS Code 1.107.0), Windows 11, personal @gmail.com account with Google AI Pro (5 TB) active since 2026-05-18. Every sign-in since 2026-09-24 18:08 (UTC+8) fails. The same build worked on 09-22 and 09-23: signedIn, onboardUser OK, zero VALIDATION_REQUIRED in any log.

Client shows Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time (auth.log, 3/3 attempts, request is POST v1internal:loadCodeAssist). Backend actually returns (ls-main.log):

403 PERMISSION_DENIED — "Verify your account to continue."
reason: VALIDATION_REQUIRED
validation_url: https://accounts.google.com/signin/continue?...&continue=.../gemini-code-assist/auth/auth_success_gemini

Not a network issue: oauth2.googleapis.com and cloudcode-pa.googleapis.com both connect (HTTP 400 / 404 on root), hosts file is clean, and requests return a structured 403 JSON with a trace ID. I need a proxy to reach Google (egress US).

Asks:

  1. Re-check the eligibility / verification flag on this account.
  2. Surface validation_url from a VALIDATION_REQUIRED 403 in the login UI.
  3. If genuinely ineligible, state which rule applies — policies.google.com/terms shows a supported country, and age + 2FA are verified.

I fixed it by downloading Antigravity 2.0 (not the IDE), and from there I got the same verification message, but it actually brought me to a QR code where I had to use my phone to verify my account. For some reason, the IDE version does not show the QR code…

I tried that, and it solved the problem for me too.

Thank you so much for this solution! :white_heart:

The alternative worked for me too but hoping to have it resolved with the IDE.

facing the same issue here

I tried opening the Antigravity 2.0 and I was logged in already. So, I logged out and logged in and it worked. I clicked the “Open IDE” button but the IDE prompted me to log in and it doesn’t work. I think the issue is in the IDE only.

I’ve been able to solve mine. Just click on any prompt, and it’ll ask you to verify your identity. Once you do that, it should work.

Antigravity Account Verification & Login Issue

Account Verification & Unlocking Procedure

If you are experiencing a login or account verification issue in Antigravity, follow the steps below to complete the verification and unlock access.

Step 1: Open Antigravity

Launch Antigravity on your computer.

Note: Antigravity is not an IDE at this stage. Open the Antigravity application directly.

Step 2: Sign In

Log in to your Antigravity account.

If you are already logged in, continue to the next step.

Step 3: Send a Message

Once logged in, enter any simple prompt or text in the Antigravity chat and submit it.

For example:

Hello

Step 4: Complete Account Verification

Antigravity may display a message asking you to verify your account.

Click the “Verify” button to begin the verification process.

Step 5: Scan the QR Code

A QR code will be displayed on the screen.

Using your mobile phone:

  1. Open your phone’s camera or QR scanner.

  2. Scan the QR code displayed in Antigravity.

  3. Follow the instructions shown on your phone.

  4. Complete the verification process.

Step 6: Wait for Confirmation

After successfully scanning and completing the verification, Antigravity should display a confirmation message indicating that your account has been verified/unlocked.

Step 7: Reopen Antigravity

Once the confirmation appears:

  1. Close Antigravity.

  2. Reopen the application.

  3. Sign in again if required.

  4. Check whether the login issue has been resolved.

:white_check_mark: Verification Completed

After completing these steps, your Antigravity account should be verified and access should be restored.

Important: Make sure you scan the QR code only from the official Antigravity application and complete the verification using the account you intend to use.

Same issue over here. I tried the whole Antigravity 2.0 trick already.
Also did clear all the workspaceStorage and globalStorage.
Issue still remains. I am logged into Antigravity 2.0 just fine, just not the IDE.

I even get a successful login message. I tried the log out of 2.0 etc.
All of the tricks don’t seem to work. It seems like a pure Google problem.

Issue: Antigravity IDE UI hides the interactive verification challenge (403 VALIDATION_REQUIRED)

If you have an active Google AI Pro subscription and your login gets blocked with the misleading message:

> “Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time”

>

The backend is actually returning 403 PERMISSION_DENIED with reason: VALIDATION_REQUIRED containing an interactive security verification link (validation_url), but the IDE’s onboarding UI fails to surface it.

Solution 1: Extract the verification link via Terminal (Linux / macOS)

* Extract your specific session link directly from the logs:

LATEST_LOG=“$(ls -td “$HOME/.config/Antigravity IDE/logs/”*/ls-main.log 2>/dev/null | head -1)”

grep -o ‘https://accounts.google.com/signin/continue[^"]*’ “$LATEST_LOG” | tail -1

* Complete the check:

Open the generated URL in your browser and complete the Google verification until you see the Authentication successful page.

* Reset session state:

Return to Antigravity IDE, click “Continue with different account”, and select the same Google account (or terminate background processes via pkill -f -9 antigravity, then relaunch and sign in).

Solution 2: GUI bypass via Antigravity 2.0 (Standalone App)

* Download and open Antigravity 2.0 (Standalone).

* Sign in with your Google account and complete the verification prompt (or scan the on-screen QR challenge).

* Once the account entitlement is verified at the Google account level, close it and reopen Antigravity IDE—it will authenticate without triggering the eligibility error.

It’s a really strange bug ngl. Since it already takes a day to fix, I assume the engineers must be quite stressed rn.
You shall not just do auth lmao It always is DNS, Auth or some silly regex, isn’t it?
As much as we are annoyed, we are the once that most likely don’t just cancel the plan.
It’s already end of the month. So, some people will probably just cancel and switch to Claude etc.

Btw. with Antigravity 2.0 I get another funny successful login page, which of course doesn’t fix it.

For those whose Antigravity 2.0 tricks or other login workarounds still haven’t worked, the root cause of the issue is that Google somehow fails to display the proper error (specifically, error 403 which should provide a sign URL for barcode verification).

As a result, you have to find that log yourself to get the validation_url, verify that barcode link in your browser, and log in again. I guarantee this will work!

Validation URL looks like this `https://accounts.google.com/signin/oauth/v3/firstparty/nativeapp?authuser=x&part=xxxxxxxxaccounts.google.com`

Here is where you can find the log:

  • Windows: AppData\Roaming\Antigravity\logs

  • Mac or Linux: Please locate the logs folder in your application’s installation directory.

Follow the steps diligently, it will work. make sure you use the antigravity application and not the IDE to first login then click Open in IDE at the top right corner, ensure the phone you want to use for the QR scan is connected to the Gemini account (email address). All the best.

Here’s the easy step without installing anything else.

I tested on Windows, but I hope it’s the same on Linux.

  1. Open the AppData folder and find the Antigravity folder. Now, there can be two folders: antigravity and antigravity IDE. Mine was Antigravity IDE, so use whatever you have.
%AppData%\Antigravity IDE\logs\20260926T150147\ls-main.log
  1. As per the path, open the ls-main.log file on your pc.

You will see something like this. (Scroll down to the last line in that file.)

Scan it, verify it, and then log in again to your AnityGravity IDE.

After operate on the phone success, I got a error message!

Jesus. That was sketchy . First, you delete all the folder. Then you do the Antigravity 2.0 stuff login. You also had to remove the whole API keys. You get a QR code to scan. Which gets you on a website that forces you to send a SMS to some sketchy mobile phone number. That message says: “Send this message without editing. ($token_code)”. THAT’S SOOOO BAD!

But hey, after 50 tries or so it actually worked.
/e ANNNNNNDDD it’s gone. Could have also just reinstalled. The whole history is gone.
Well, that sks. . .
/e2 I should add though, it doesn’t delete .gemini etc. so, you can prompt it to basically recover the context window to some degree. Let’s see how that works out.

While it seems to be working now, it keeps losing the auth all the time.
Stuck, until you reload the whole IDE. Whatever they are doing here.
Their whole auth system seems to be quite broken now.
/e it’s especially stuck all the time at those approval requests. Sometimes it keeps working and then it’s just stuck at the first one. Sometimes after 5, sometimes 10. It’s very random and quite annoying.
/e2 It seems like their whole approval result thingy is completly broken. The moment you click on approve, the whole IDE is basically gone. They really nuked their whole auth.

Thank you!!! It worked for me.

Antigravity 2.0 login is working for me, but when I click on Antigravity IDE, it again gives me the login screen and again upon attempt of login in IDE, it gives me the same error message. I tried investigating the logs in ls-logs folder, but there is no validation URL as such.
Let me know if you have any workaround.
