Having issues with tool calling in gemini 3.5 flash lite. And im not alone i feel

I feel like since last 2-3 days gemini 3.5 flash lite tool calling has become really bad.

It keeps pretending it has already called the tools, fakes tool calls, uses wrong format, completely ignores instructions.

In contrast, gemini 3.1 flash lite is performing perfectly and respecting instructions. Im being forced to use 3.1 flash lite. What happened? I dont feel im alone.

Can you share a minimal code snippet, including the payload and prompt details you are using?

This is big issue for me right now, function calls are not stable in gemini 3.5 flash lite, back to 3.1 flash lite.
