So I was going to sign up for Ultra but realised that people were having problems with quotas. I don’t think this is a bug my guess is that there just isn’t the capacity to deal with the free users and paying users so they have throttled everyone. Its such a shame as the few hours I had with it were excellent but now even though I have an account thats refreshed I can see it keeps timing out saying that there is a high load of traffic.
I’m not sure if this is a google pricing disaster (too cheap) or a data centre overload or something else but my feeling is they have massively reduced the capacity for all accounts which is frankly awful. I thought this might be the case reading through the posts and when I tried to use it today. They totally underestimated the potential for the app to explode and I reckon many more users are hammering the servers than expected. I think I’ll wait until the datacentres can cope before subscribing as it seems they have been quite cynical about how they treat their customers.
