Hello Google AI Studio Team,
I am having an issue connecting my Google AI Studio project to GitHub.
Project Name: Mumtahina’s Closet Inc
GitHub Repository: shabnam-rgb/mumtahina-s-closet-inc
Environment: Windows PC, Google Chrome
Problem
I am trying to connect my Mumtahina’s Closet Inc project in Google AI Studio to my GitHub repository.
When I click “Sign in to GitHub to continue”, the GitHub authorization process opens normally. I authorize/install the Google AI Studio GitHub App and grant repository access.
The authorization appears to complete successfully, and GitHub redirects me to:
aistudio.google.com/auth/github/redirect?status=success
However, after returning to Google AI Studio, the GitHub panel still shows:
“Sign in to GitHub to continue”
The connection is never completed, and I cannot proceed to select or create the repository for GitHub Sync.
Troubleshooting
I have already tried the following:
- Restarting Google Chrome
- Hard refreshing the page with
Ctrl + F5 - Allowing third-party cookies
- Allowing pop-ups and redirects
- Checking that JavaScript is enabled
- Revoking and re-authorizing GitHub access
- Reinstalling the Google AI Studio GitHub App
- Granting access to All repositories
- Repeating the complete GitHub authorization process
- Trying with a different/new GitHub account
The same problem continues.
Important Observation
The GitHub OAuth authorization appears to succeed because the callback URL contains:
status=success
However, Google AI Studio does not seem to recognize or persist the successful GitHub authorization afterward.
This makes me suspect that the issue may be related to the Google AI Studio OAuth/session state or backend GitHub integration, rather than GitHub repository permissions or my browser settings.
Expected Behavior
After successful GitHub authorization, Google AI Studio should recognize the connection and allow me to select or create the GitHub repository for GitHub Sync.
Actual Behavior
GitHub authorization succeeds, but Google AI Studio returns to the GitHub panel and continues displaying:
“Sign in to GitHub to continue”
The authorization process can be repeated, but the connection never completes.

Could you please investigate whether there is an issue with the GitHub OAuth callback, session state, or backend connection handling on the Google AI Studio side?
I can provide screenshots or a screen recording showing the complete authorization flow, including the status=success callback and the GitHub panel returning to “Sign in to GitHub to continue.”
