# Google AI Studio app publishing fails — Firestore project locked

Hello,

I’m trying to republish my existing app, _PolyGrammar – Multilingual Grammar Master_, in Google AI Studio.

When I click Publish, I see “Failed to publish app” with no additional details.

During Step 1, AI Studio says my Google Cloud project is locked because it is required by Firestore. The project is `platinum-gradient-c9v0l`. I also don’t see a Starter Tier option or a billing setup option.

Could you help me determine why publishing fails and whether I can republish my existing app without enabling paid billing?

Hi @Moemen_Mohamed,

Thanks for flagging this! We’ve rolled out a fix for this issue. Please try the following steps:

1. Hard refresh Google AI Studio (`Ctrl+Shift+R` on Windows/Linux or `Cmd+Shift+R` on Mac) and open your existing app.
2. Open the **Publish** panel—it should now recognize your existing deployment and restore the **Republish** button and your existing URL.

If you’re still running into any issues after refreshing, please share your **Applet ID** (from your app URL `https://aistudio.google.com/apps/drive/<APPLET_ID>`) and a screenshot of the Publish panel so we can take a look.
