Getting 429 Errors - But Usage Charts Show no Traffic

HI @Jamie123234 , Gemini API limits are applied to the API, not the version of the model. Then if you reach the limit using the 1.5 model it will affect the 2.0 model too.

I am getting the same errors since yesterday
Paid tier 1 (All bills duly paid)
Issue specific to gemini-2.5-flash model
Getting 429 errors on even minor usage

never faced such issues earlier. Very very critical for me to get this solved. Please help me

@Vishal: I am a Tier 1 (Paid) Customer critically blocked by the 429 (Resource Exhausted) error and all support channels are failing. I cannot find the “Message” button for direct contact.

Hi Vishal, also getting this error using gemini APi, first was getting it on Flash 3, switch to Flash 2.5 and started getting it there as well.

Same thing. Periodically, I get phantom 429 errors. One day it’s all good, one day every request returns 429 but other services in same project is good and usage is fair below quotas

  • Model Name & Region:** (e.g., gemini-2.5-pro in europe-west1 etc).
  • Platform:(AI Studio, Vertex AI SDK, or REST ).
  • Provide the project number (not the project ID) via direct message
