I’d like to touch on the topic of Gemini, specifically its usage limits.
I have an active Gemini Ultra x5 subscription.
Usage time: Beginning June 2026
I encountered an unpleasant situation: I previously only used 3.1 Pro (Deep Think) requests, which are only available in Ultra. To give you an idea, I could use 2-3 chats at once for analysis and the like, but I could never reach the usage limit (a 5-hour session). My weekly limit was maxed out at 25%, despite me spending almost every day chatting (working). To reach the 25% weekly limit, I had to be online 24/7 and sending requests very frequently. Also, during my entire time using it, I never reached the maximum limit in a 5-hour session, even with 2-3 chats simultaneously; the maximum was around 87%.
So, a couple of days later, I log into Gemini and send the same request using 3.1 Pro (Deep Think). I always keep the “Usage Limits” tab open in a separate window. I see that the usage limit has suddenly jumped from 0% to 25%. I thought it was a bug. I decide to send another request (there were two in total during a 5-hour session), and after a successful request, the limit went from 25% to 50%. So, each of my requests was around 20% - 25%. I’m wondering if this is a bug in my account or if this is how it’s supposed to be. I’ve never had this issue before, and I could use Gemini all day without any problems.
My question is, is this the same for everyone? Why did everything work perfectly and reliably for me before, but now everything has changed? Have you noticed this?
