I specifically asked Gemini if it would require a credit card to make this simple app that it suggested I make. I was assured they absolutely would not. Of course, I was I was deceived once again by greedy Google and pathological liar Gemini whom did not just neglect to tell me, they absolutely gave me false information about the daily quota limit of 10 requests per day for gemini-3.1-flash-tts on the free tier creates severe bottlenecks without clear upfront warning during setup. Switching execution environments (from AI Studio to local development) does not resolve the backend rate-limit, leading to wasted time attempting local workarounds for a restriction hard-locked to the free API key tier. Having never used the AI studio before, spending half a day investing time setting up local code bases, environment files, and clipboard utilities only to be…hit with an immediate RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED error ([``generativelanguage.googleapis.com/generate_content_free_tier_requests``](``https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/generate_content_free_tier_requests``), limit: 10). The documentation and UI need to clearly warn users before development that the free tier for TTS is capped at 10 total requests per day before they waste their goddamn time and patience when Gemini flat out lies and tells them this can be accomplished without adding a credit card. Once again,Gemini and Google have wasted my valuable time and unnecessarily raised my damn blood pressure. I am gleefully looking forward to all of the class action lawsuits for all of Google’s little scams. I hope they all succeed.
