Gemini API Tier 1 Sync Issue - Prepaid $1000 deposited but stuck on Tier 1 / Omni Flash failing

Hi,
My project is currently stuck on “Paid Tier 1” in Google AI Studio, even though I already made an advance payment of €1000 on my linked Google Cloud Billing account weeks ago.

Because the system forced me to switch to Prepay, I had to top up an additional €10 to trigger the migration. Now AI Studio only recognizes the €10 balance and keeps me on Tier 1.

Due to the Tier 1 restriction, my application is consistently failing when trying to use Gemini Omni Flash Video with the error: “Failed to create interaction stream. Please try again.”

Could a moderator please trigger a manual billing sync for my project so the €1000 is recognized and my account automatically upgrades to Tier 3?

Note: There is no manual billing sync process at our end.

  • It seems like you made an advance prepayment directly on your Google Cloud Billing account instead of AIS prepaid billing.
  • You could request a refund for the advance payment from Cloud Billing Support, and deposit funds directly into your dedicated AI Studio prepaid wallet at AIS prepaid billing.

Hi,

I made the payment this year when that was the only option. Now I had to switch to the new payment model (AIS prepaid billing). This should keep the money I already paid, so I can use it? Please make sure this is the case.

And please investigate why I still can’t use the video model I selected as mentioned in my original post.

  1. Payments made in advance to a Google Cloud Billing account exist within Cloud Billing and do not automatically transfer to or credit the AI Studio Arcade prepaid wallet. We cannot move funds between the two systems. If you wish to use those funds in AI Studio Prepay, you will need to request a refund for the Cloud Billing advance payment via Google Cloud Console Billing Support, and then deposit funds directly into AI Studio.
  2. Gemini Omni Flash is available on Paid Tier 1 as well (with lesser rate limits) (given that you have positive AIS prepay ballance) and does not require Tier 2. Can you try generating a new API key and retry your request?

  1. I don’t know about two systems: I paid for using an API key for coding and using AI Studio – which worked seamlessly. Then I was forced to switch the payment mode and now it’s broken somehow. So for me as a customer the whole mechanism and product/system differences is opaque. Please tell me what the difference is and if I do need to get the refund in order to both use API keys for coding in my projects and use the AI Studio Playground.
