Gemini API age requirements for a photography composition app without chat

A clear answer would help camera app developers apply the Age Requirements clause consistently when Gemini performs image analysis rather than conversation. Could an authorized Google representative clarify this use case or direct us to the appropriate private channel?

Smart Shutter is a mobile camera app intended for a general audience photographing landscapes, architecture and everyday places. It is not designed specifically for children, but it is not currently restricted to adults.

When a user chooses Ideas and consents to processing, our backend sends one scene photo to the Gemini Developer API. It may also send framing measurements such as zoom, pitch and roll. A fixed application prompt requests structured output containing three crop suggestions, composition scores and short photographic explanations. Users do not chat with Gemini, write freeform prompts, or receive generated replacement images. Photos could incidentally contain people. We use generativelanguage.googleapis.com with a production project associated with active paid billing.

  1. Does the Age Requirements restriction apply to this image analysis use case even though the app exposes no chatbot or direct model interface?
  2. Is there a documented exception or approved contractual route for this kind of general audience photography app? Please identify its conditions and authoritative documentation.
  3. If no such route exists, what actual access controls would be required? We do not want to assume that a store age rating or a checkbox alone is sufficient.
  4. Does a Google Cloud offering change the answer under the current Generative AI Services terms, or would written approval be needed?

We want to keep Gemini and obtain the correct interpretation before public launch. Please distinguish general guidance from any formal approval required for this specific use case. We can provide additional implementation details privately, without publishing credentials or user photos.

Thank you.
