experienced this exact problem today as well, I was working on a project and all data is lost which took so many hours, when will it be fixed and would we be able to get those chats back?

Still experiencing the issue till today…just lost over 250k token and context of work…
I find it funny that a company as large as google cannot see the issues people are having and resolve them…This issue has persisted for months now and no response or fixes have been proposed

Still happening! Very frustrating… As most of you wrote over here a lot of work just vanished… Such a shame.

It is still happening, lost multiple days of chats, even in drive I can find the uploaded files but the actual chats have gone. I mean you are planning to charge for this stuff??!
Happened to me today in both my personal and work accounts! So frustrating, hours of work down the drain.
It is August 1, 12 days away from making this issue 8 months old since it was first reported. And unfortunately, today is when I have experienced my first-ever Google AI Studio blackout due to a power outage on my PC. It is incredibly painful and traumatising because I have lost very important work.
A good solution, until Google decides to fix this, is the one recommended by JeroenS on January 20 (at the beginning of this thread). Switch off autosave and rely on manually saving your chats routinely (preferably in short periods), as it has been presumably discovered that AI Studio communicates poorly with the Google Drive API by failing to continue saving versions of the chat after deleting older saves when it reaches 100. So, this issue will only affect long chats.
Google, please fix this. AI Studio has wonderful features that keep us on there, and it would suck to have to leave.

I am dealing with this issue now. It is strange. I don’t know why it is doing this thing. The chat reset itself from earlier today’s talk. I am shocked. It has been doing this three times.
