Hi, I would just like to weigh in my opinion on what I believe to be today’s changes. I, politely, think they are dumb.
To a extent, AI Studio is effectively just a better Gemini App, and I think Google knows it. That’s why they added their subscription to it.
Furthermore, the removal of the API key dropdown and the ability to choose “No API Key“ is really getting at me. While I do have a valid payment method linked to a valid billing account, and spending limits set to 1 cent, I want to use this and just a normal app. I don’t care about the rate limits, as long as they are reasonable.
In my personal opinion, removing the ability to use this app for free, even with low rate limits, without fear of being charged, is a stupid, and utterly dumb decision.
