Hello Google AI / Gemini API Support,
I am requesting a review of my Google AI Studio / Gemini API project because my project is currently showing as Restricted and my Gemini API requests are returning a 403 PERMISSION_DENIED error.
The exact error I receive is:
“Your project has been denied access. Please contact support.”
I am trying to use the Gemini API for a personal development project called “Mindra AI”. The project is an AI application that I am developing for learning and testing purposes. I am using the Gemini API through a Node.js backend, and the API key is stored securely on the server side rather than exposed in the client application.
I have already checked the following:
- My Google account date of birth is verified.
- My phone number is added to my Google account.
- 2-Step Verification is enabled.
- I created a new Gemini API key in Google AI Studio.
- The API key is configured correctly in my server environment.
- The API request reaches the Gemini API successfully, but the project receives a 403 PERMISSION_DENIED response.
My project currently shows:
- Status: Restricted
- Billing Tier: Unavailable
I would like to use the available Gemini API Free Tier if my project is eligible. I do not currently intend to use paid services.
Could you please review my project and let me know why access has been restricted, and whether the restriction can be removed?
If there is any required verification, policy requirement, or account/project setting that I need to complete, please let me know what I should do.
