I know this is a slightly older thread, but since it’s the #1 result on Google when searching for how to export AI Studio chats, I wanted to drop a permanent solution here for anyone else who finds this.
I had the exact same frustration trying to save my prompts, copy/pasting ruins the formatting, breaks tables, and captures all the messy internal tags from the newer Gemini models.
I ended up building a free Chrome Extension specifically to solve this. It runs 100% locally in your browser and lets you 1-click export any AI Studio conversation to Markdown, PDF, or JSON. It preserves all code blocks and syntax highlighting perfectly.
