I know this is a slightly older thread, but since it’s the #1 result on Google when searching for how to export AI Studio chats, I wanted to drop a permanent solution here for anyone else who finds this.

I had the exact same frustration trying to save my prompts, copy/pasting ruins the formatting, breaks tables, and captures all the messy internal tags from the newer Gemini models.

I ended up building a free Chrome Extension specifically to solve this. It runs 100% locally in your browser and lets you 1-click export any AI Studio conversation to **Markdown, PDF, or JSON**. It preserves all code blocks and syntax highlighting perfectly.

Wow this is a lot more polished than my version I was going to put a GitHub. My method was inconsistent and ran into a lot of errors due to escape issues with certain types of conversations so I never released it. Good work assuming you solved those problems. And I also love your web design for the page. I assume Gemini designed it?

Thanks a ton! Honestly, dealing with those escape errors and weird model tags was an absolute nightmare. I had to go through way too much regex trial and error and DOM parsing to finally get it stable, so I really appreciate you noticing the polish and good eye on the website, Gemini really helped me out with designing and developing it.

One Suggestion, I would like to ask, should i expand this extension from google ai studio to more platform supprt like google ai studio plus claude plus gemini etc ??
