Is there a reason why AI studio is the only chat app I use, from Gemini on web, chatgpt, claude etc where you need to hit crtl + enter vs just enter? Was there a specific reason for this flow?

AI Studio is not a chat app. That would be [gemini.google.com](http://gemini.google.com).
AI Studio is a developer tool.
As such, sometimes it makes sense to add many lines that have a newline between them, and still need a keyboard shortcut to send the text.

Ok ok fair enough, makes sense I get it.
But of course my counter would be shift enter to add new lines.

But you all know your audience so keep cooking, love the speed and progress!!
