Dock Context Menu Top Section Frozen with Stale Items Since v2 Upgrade

Dock Context Menu Top Section Frozen with Stale Items Since v2 Upgrade

Category: Antigravity Desktop / Bug Reports

Bug Description

Ever since upgrading to the Antigravity v2 Desktop standalone architecture, the native macOS Dock icon context menu has been structurally broken.

The top section of the context menu is completely frozen, permanently displaying a stale, 6-month-old list of legacy file vectors (TODO_List.md, index.md, README.md, scrapper tool.code-workspace, Thai_Tax__MCP, PID_SKILL, Thai_Tax_Database, MUSTA_DEVELOPMENT, Future_Projects, Thai_Tax_Calculator).

Meanwhile, the middle section of the menu is functioning perfectly and actively refreshing—it properly registers and dynamically updates with my current active window environments (currently registering Apple Fix App Questions -... and Map Spacebar To Enter - O...).

Because the middle section works, the application’s native OS communication tray is clearly operational. However, the top segment is permanently hardlocked, indicating that legacy v1 file history arrays are stuck in an immutable or orphaned configuration array that the v2 upgrade engine cannot overwrite, clean, or flush.

Diagnostics & Steps Already Attempted

To rule out OS-level caching issues, I have already executed a comprehensive deep clean via the Mac Terminal, which yielded no results:

  1. Forced a system daemon refresh: killall sharedfilelistd Dock

  2. Stripped out global application caches and bundle fragments:

    bash

    setopt +o nomatch; rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.google.antigravity* ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/com.google.antigravity*.savedState ~/Library/Caches/com.google.antigravity*

    Use code with caution.

  3. Wiped the internal workspace storage directory entirely:

    bash

    rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Antigravity/User/workspaceStorage

    Use code with caution.

  4. Cleared internal database sync files:

    bash

    rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Antigravity/User/globalStorage

    Use code with caution.

Wiping all local application layouts, databases, and system plist configurations did not drop the frozen top block, indicating this layout array might be pinned to a cloud-synced account state profile mismatch from the upgrade architecture shift.

Environment & System Details

  • App Version: Google Antigravity v2 Desktop (Standalone Upgrade)
  • OS: macOS 27 Golden Gate (Public Build)
  • Hardware: Mac (M-Series)

Hi @imgt,

Thanks for the screenshot! That top section isn’t tied to your account. It’s macOS’s own recent documents list, stored in a system folder the cleanup didn’t reach. The new Antigravity doesn’t update it, so the old IDE entries are stuck there.

To clear it:

  1. Quit Antigravity.

  2. In Terminal, run:

    rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ApplicationRecentDocuments/com.google.antigravity*

    killall sharedfilelistd Dock

  3. If that doesn’t do it, go to System Settings → Desktop & Dock, set “Recent documents, apps, and servers” to None, then set it back. Note that this clears recent items for all your apps.

  4. If the old version icon is still pinned in your Dock, remove it and pin the new app instead.

Let us know if the old items still show up after that.
