Hello,
I am posting here because the appeal process appears to have stalled and I have no other channel available.
Situation
- Project: “Default Gemini Project”, id
gen-lang-client-03915963.., project number9510224226.., quota locationeurope-west1. - Every Gemini API call returns
HTTP 429 RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED,quota_limit_value: 0. EvenGET /v1beta/models, which consumes no quota, fails. So this is not rate limiting — the project is restricted. - Billing is active and funded (prepaid, paid tier). The credit sits unused.
- The console shows the standard notice: resources locked for use of the Gemini API in violation of the Additional Terms / Prohibited Use Policy. No specific request, model or timestamp is named.
Appeal timeline
- 15 September 2026: appeal submitted through the console form. Confirmation email “Appeal Received”, Ticket Reference ID
G7B3IGWGOCUWTNCF6REDS7RSIY, stating a reply “in most cases within two business days”. - 17 September 2026: follow-up sent by email — but the only address given is a
-noreply@one, so I assume nobody read it. - 22 September 2026: still
quota 0. Five business days have passed, more than double the stated two. No decision, and the appeal page in the console shows no status at all — I cannot tell whether the case is open, queued or already closed. - Support cases cannot be opened: the console states that with my current support level no cases can be created for this project.
- Billing support is not reachable either: on the Billing Support page the “Request billing support” button does nothing at all — no assistant panel, no popup, no console error. So the one free human channel is also closed.
What the project was actually used for
I run a furniture and interior design business in Switzerland. The API was used to edit photographs of our customers’ own living rooms — for example showing an existing sofa in a different upholstery fabric, so the customer can see the material in their own room before ordering. A few dozen images over several months. No people were generated, no faces, no public distribution: each image was shown only to the single customer it was made for.
What I am asking
- If the restriction is a false positive, please restore the project.
- If it is not, please tell me which specific request or category triggered it, so I can stop doing it. The notice is generic and I genuinely cannot tell what I did wrong.
- If a moderator can check the status of ticket
G7B3IGWGOCUWTNCF6REDS7RSIYand say whether it is still open, that alone would help.
I have deliberately not filed a second appeal, since I understand that puts the case back at the end of the queue. Happy to provide any detail privately.
Thank you.
