Environment Details
- Application: Antigravity IDE
- Authentication Method: Google Account Login
- OS: Windows
Description of the Issue
There is a severe session persistence and authentication bug in Antigravity IDE. Whenever my PC restarts unexpectedly—either due to a sudden power outage (load shedding) or a routine system reboot—the IDE completely drops my active session and automatically logs me out.
To make matters worse, when I try to log back in immediately after the reboot, the authentication flow breaks down completely. The IDE repeatedly displays an “Unexpected Issue” error message. It takes anywhere between 20 to 30 minutes of continuous retries before the IDE finally accepts the login and synchronizes the session.
This issue is completely disrupting my development workflow every time there is a power fluctuation or restart.
Steps to Reproduce
- Log into Antigravity IDE and work normally.
- Simulate a sudden shutdown or restart the PC (e.g., power cut or system reboot).
- Turn the PC back on and launch Antigravity IDE.
- Observe that the IDE has completely logged out the user instead of restoring the session cache.
- Click login, complete the browser OAuth step, and observe the “Unexpected Issue” error on return.
- Get stuck in a retry loop for 20-30 minutes before authentication succeeds.
Expected Behavior
- Session Persistence: The IDE should securely cache the authentication token locally so that a sudden PC restart or power outage does not force an automatic logout.
- Robust OAuth Handshake: If a logout does happen, the relogin process should be instant and flawless instead of throwing an “Unexpected Issue” error and rate-limiting the user for half an hour.
Impact
Critical workflow disruption. Losing 30 minutes just to log back into an IDE after a power cut makes the environment highly unreliable for professional work.
