Hi, I need help resetting my GitHub connection in Google AI Studio. Here is my full situation:
I originally connected AI Studio to a GitHub account that was linked to a different Google account (let’s call it Gmail A). I later uninstalled the Google AI Studio app from that old GitHub account.
I then created a brand new GitHub account using my main Google account (Gmail B) which is the account I use in AI Studio. I want to connect this new GitHub account to AI Studio under Gmail B.
Here is everything I have already tried:
-
Cleared browser cookies and cache
-
Used a fresh incognito window
-
Checked myaccount.google.com/permissions — Google AI Studio was not listed there
-
Went to Sign in to GitHub · GitHub — Google AI Studio was not installed on the new account
-
Manually installed Google AI Studio from GitHub Apps - Google AI Studio · GitHub on the new GitHub account
-
Set repository access to “All repositories” with full read and write permissions
-
Tried remixing/copying the project to get a fresh connection
Despite all of this, when I click the GitHub sync button in AI Studio it goes instantly to this error with no popup appearing at all:
“Failed to create GitHub repository. Insufficient permissions to create the GitHub repository. Please check your permissions for the AI Studio App on GitHub.”
The GitHub app is fully installed and configured correctly. The problem seems to be that AI Studio still has my old GitHub connection cached on the backend and is not giving me a fresh authorization popup to connect the new account.
Could you please reset the GitHub connection for my Google account on the backend? Thank you.
