I’m a student using GCP for my final‑year project, and I have an Educational Coupon applied to my billing account.
Because the free tier limits are quite restrictive for my use case, I want to confirm whether Educational Credits can be used to pay for AI Studio / Vertex AI usage (e.g., model inference, embeddings, tuning, or other Gemini API calls).
The credit description in the console says it applies to “Any service on this billing account”, but I’m unsure whether AI Studio counts as a standard GCP billable service or if it uses a separate credit system.
Has anyone successfully used Educational Credits to cover AI Studio or Vertex AI costs?
Or is AI Studio excluded even if the billing account is eligible?
