[BUG REPORT] Authentication Failure: "failed to make code assist backend request" after v2.0.0 Update

After updating to Google Antigravity v2.0.0 today (2026-05-19), I am unable to complete the account setup/sign-in process. The application consistently throws a backend error immediately following the OAuth flow.

System Information

  • Software: Google Antigravity

  • Version: v2.0.0 (updated today)

  • Browser: [Insert your browser name, e.g., Chrome v144]

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch Google Antigravity v2.0.0.

  2. Initiate the login/sign-in process.

  3. Complete the Google OAuth authentication in the browser.

  4. Return to the application to finish account setup.

  5. Receive error message: “There was an unexpected issue setting up your account.” with the sub-text “failed to make code assist backend request.”

Expected Result The application should successfully complete account provisioning and initialize the code assist agent.
