I’m a Google AI Pro subscriber and have been stuck with this error for 5 days (since Feb 11, 2026).
Error: HTTP 400 Bad Request
“Invalid project resource name projects/”
What I’ve tried (NONE worked):
- Complete uninstall and reinstall
- Deleted .gemini folder
- Installed gcloud CLI, re-authenticated
- Created new Google Cloud project
- Disabled all MCP servers
- Switched models (Gemini, Claude, all fail)
- Logged out and back in multiple times
Key finding: A DIFFERENT Google account works fine on the same machine. This proves it’s an account-level server-side issue, not a local problem.
Multiple users are reporting the same issue (#1826, #1836, #1910, #1932 on GitHub).
Google team - please acknowledge this issue and provide an ETA for the fix. We are paying subscribers who cannot use the product.
