## **Platform:** Linux (Arch Linux, kernel 7.1.8, Hyprland 0.56.2 / Wayland)

**Antigravity IDE:** 1.107.0 (stable, commit ecfbad74, built 2026-08-13)
**Electron:** 39.2.3 (Chromium 142.0.7444.175)

### Summary

Dragging a file from the in-app Explorer (sidebar) into the Agent chat shows the
“Upload to Agent” dropzone overlay, but after releasing the file NO attachment
appears — the file is silently ignored. This is NOT a Wayland issue and NOT the
known global-dropzone bug (#126978): see the three-way test below.

### Three-way test (same file, same session)

1. Attach button / media picker in the chat → ✅ works
2. Dragging the file from an EXTERNAL file manager into the chat → ✅ works
3. Dragging the file from the in-app Explorer sidebar into the chat → ❌ fails
(overlay appears, drop accepted, no attachment, no error)

### Expected behavior

Dropping a file from the built-in Explorer into the chat should attach it,
same as dropping from an external file manager.

### Actual behavior

The drop is accepted (dropzone overlay reacts) but the attachment is never
created and no error is surfaced anywhere. Logs show a silent failure —
grep for drag/drop/uri/ozone in main.log and renderer.log returns 0 matches
(session 20260818T131855).

### Log excerpt (session 2026-08-18, main.log)

renderer.log, around the time of the test:
2026-08-18 13:19:32.626 [error] An unknown error occurred. Please consult the log for more details.

### Root-cause hypothesis

This matches the well-known Electron ≥32 migration issue: `File.path` was
removed from dropped `File` objects, and apps must use `webUtils.getPathForFile()`.
External OS drags work (path is provided via the main process), but drags
originating inside the app from the Explorer tree into the chat webview lose
the path at the workbench→webview boundary. Same bug family:

- anthropics/claude-code#25128 / #18037 — “Shift+drag file to chat not working in VS Code UI”
- anthropics/claude-code#43476 — drag from file explorer into chat panel
- electron/electron#47284 — dropped File objects no longer include path

### Suggested fix

Migrate the Explorer drag-source to provide the file path via
`webUtils.getPathForFile()` at dragstart, or handle drop of in-app drags
without relying on the dropped File’s path.

### Workaround for users (until fixed)

- Drag the file from an external file manager instead of the sidebar, or
- Use the chat’s attach button / media picker, or
- Copy the file in the Explorer and paste into the chat.

Hi @**[Streams\_H\_c](https://discuss.ai.google.dev/u/streams_h_c)**

This issue has been resolved in the Antigravity latest version 2.5.5.

Finally, use the in-app “Report Issue” feedback tool in the top-right corner to capture diagnostic data for our engineering team.
