Billing setup forces Organization profile for an Individual user in Serbia

Hello,

I am an individual user in Serbia trying to enable Paid Tier / Pay per Request for Gemini API in Google AI Studio.

I want to use Google AI tools for text-to-speech narration, music and sound generation, and video generation.

The problem is that when I click “Set up billing”, the billing form only offers Profile type: Organization and requires an Organization name. I am not a company or a registered organization. I am an individual user.

On my main Google account I already have an Individual Google Payments profile for Serbia, which I use for Google One / Google AI Pro and Google Play purchases. However, Google AI Studio / Cloud Billing does not offer me the option to use that Individual profile.

I also tested the same billing flow on a completely new personal Google account, and the form still forced Organization, so this does not appear to be caused by my existing Payments profile.

Google’s documentation states that individuals can use an Individual payments profile and that freelancers or consultants who are not registered organizations also qualify as Individual users.

I do not want to enter a fake organization name or provide incorrect billing information.

How can an individual user in Serbia create a Cloud Billing account and enable Gemini API Paid Tier without creating an Organization profile?

Is this a known regional billing issue or a bug in the AI Studio billing setup?

I can confirm the same issue, and I found an additional detail that strongly suggests this is country-dependent.

Using the same Google AI Studio billing flow:

  • Country = Serbia: the Contact information form forces Organization and there is no option to select Individual.

    • Country = Europe, US, others: the same form shows a checkbox “This is for an organization”. When I uncheck it, the form becomes an Individual billing form.

If I switch the country back to Serbia, the checkbox disappears again and Organization becomes mandatory.

I am physically located in Serbia and my real billing address is in Serbia, so I cannot legally select foreign country just to obtain an Individual billing profile.

I also tested this on another old Google account that had never used Google Cloud Billing or a payment method before, and Serbia still forced Organization.

This strongly suggests a regional billing configuration/UI issue for Serbia, not an issue with an existing Payments profile.

Please confirm whether Individual Gemini API / Google Cloud Billing is currently supported for Serbia, and if so, how an individual user can create it.

Same problem here. And it’s impossible to enter individual TIN (which is 13 digits JMBG) cause form allows to enter only 9 digits (which is organization PIB). So it’s impossible for individual in Serbia to use Google Cloud right now. Did you get any answer from Google about this issue?
