Hello Google Antigravity Support Team,
I am unable to sign in to Google Antigravity using my personal Gmail account.
The error message is:
“There was an unexpected issue setting up your account. Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time.”
I have already tried the following:
- Signed out and signed in again.
- Removed Google Antigravity access from my Google Account’s linked apps.
- Checked my Google Account birthday information.
- Tried opening the Google Age Verification page, but it returned a 403 error.
Unfortunately, the same error still appears.
Environment:
- Operating system: Windows 10
- Account type: Personal Gmail
- Country: India
Could you please help me understand why my account is being marked as ineligible and advise me on the steps required to resolve this issue?
Thank you.
Fix: “Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals”
I tried almost every fix I could find online for this error, but unfortunately, none of them worked for me.
I was using:
I kept getting:
“There was an unexpected issue setting up your account.”
“Your account is not eligible for Gemini Code Assist for individuals at this time.”
What finally worked for me
I downloaded Antigravity 2.0 and installed it alongside my existing Antigravity installation.
Then I:
-
Opened Antigravity 2.0.
-
Logged in with my Google account.
-
During the login/setup process, Google prompted me to complete an account verification.
-
I completed the verification successfully.
-
After completing the verification, Gemini Code Assist started working normally for me.
So, if you’ve already tried the commonly suggested fixes and nothing works, try installing Antigravity 2.0 separately and complete the account verification when prompted.
This worked for me on a Windows PC with a Google AI Pro subscription.
Note: This is just the solution that worked in my particular case. It may not work for every account or setup.
I have this issue too. It works fine elsewhere, like I just had it pull up in VS NO problem but it randomly quit in Antigravity IDE, and no matter what I do it still ends up not working.
Hi @Sachin_Chavan1 and @OverLordDC ,
Thank you for reaching out.
To resolve this account eligibility and verification hold in Antigravity IDE (v2.5.5), could you please follow the steps below:
-
Check Google Account Security & Payments Profile Country:
- Visit Google Account Security in your browser to ensure 2-Step Verification is active and confirm there are no pending “Is this you?” security alerts on your account.
- Visit Google Payments Settings and verify that your active payment profile country is set to India (and close any older or inactive payment profiles tied to other regions).
-
Clear Cached Windows Credentials & Local Session Storage:
- Completely close Antigravity IDE (
v2.5.5) (Download).
- Open Windows Credential Manager → Windows Credentials → Generic Credentials and remove any saved
Antigravity entries, then delete %APPDATA%\Antigravity\Session Storage so the IDE does not reload the previous cached token on startup.
-
Reset Onboarding & Authenticate via Incognito (Without VPN/Proxy):
- Relaunch Antigravity IDE over a direct internet connection (temporarily disable any VPN or proxy).
- Open the Command Palette (
Ctrl + Shift + P), run Antigravity: Reset Onboarding, and complete the browser sign-in inside a fresh Incognito / Private window.
-
Verify Country Association or Refresh Account Entitlement:
Please let us know if you continue to face any issues after trying these steps.
It worked..thank you..If it doesn’t work first time, try again 2nd time for login..it will work for sure..
First try to login at Antigravity chat…it will show error..then again try to login..it will give you a QR code..then verify it..then login in IDE..it will work
For me issue is resolved
steps:
use Antigravity v2 it will ask for QR code verification when the verification is done the IDE will also work
I just paid for Google AI Pro, and immediately afterward I started running into an account eligibility issue that prevents me from using Antigravity, even though the payment went through successfully.
The affected account is a personal Gmail account, it is age verified, over 18, not managed by an organization, and it successfully completes Google’s authentication flow. The authentication success page explicitly says Gemini Code Assist, Gemini CLI, Cloud Code with Gemini Code Assist, and Antigravity are authorized for the account.
Despite that, both Antigravity IDE and the Antigravity CLI reject the account with:
“Your current account is not eligible for Antigravity.”
I have already tried all of the following:
- Updated/reinstalled Antigravity
- Completely closed Antigravity and killed related processes
- Cleared/renamed the Antigravity AppData profile
- Cleared/renamed
.antigravity-ide
- Cleared/renamed
.gemini
- Restarted Windows
- Reauthenticated from scratch
- Used the verification/authentication link provided by the CLI
- Confirmed the browser reports authentication as successful
- Confirmed the account is age verified
- Tested another personal Google account on the exact same computer and installation
The important part is that the other account works. The free account can log into Antigravity successfully, while the account I just paid for with Google AI Pro is the one being rejected as ineligible. That strongly suggests this is an account entitlement/provisioning issue on Google’s side rather than anything wrong with my local installation.
I would like someone to check and correct the Antigravity/Gemini Code Assist entitlement on my paid account. I do not appreciate being charged successfully for AI Pro and then being unable to use the associated service because the account is suddenly being treated as ineligible.
If this account cannot be fixed and I cannot actually use Antigravity with the AI Pro subscription I just purchased, I would like a refund.
Thank you! It worked and saved me hours.
Thank you, this worked! I dont know why google made us go through such a bothersome process
It works! Thank you so much!
Here are the steps that worked for me:
- Install Antigravity 2.0 and sign in.
- Open Antigravity IDE 2.5.5 — it still didn’t work for me.
- Try using
agy (Gemini CLI).
agy shows a QR code for authentication.
- Scan the QR code with your phone and complete the authentication.
- Go back to Antigravity IDE 2.5.5.
- It works!
I’m not sure why, but completing the authentication through Gemini CLI seems to have fixed the issue for me.
Here’s the easy step without installing anything else.
I tested on Windows, but I hope it’s the same on Linux.
- Open the AppData folder and find the Antigravity folder. Now, there can be two folders: antigravity and antigravity IDE. Mine was Antigravity IDE, so use whatever you have.
%AppData%\Antigravity IDE\logs\20260926T150147\ls-main.log
- As per the path, open the
ls-main.log file on your pc.
You will see something like this. (Scroll down to the last line in that file.)

Copy the "validation_url" and open it in a browser where your Google account is logged in; it will open the QR code.

Scan it, verify it, and then log in again to your AnityGravity IDE. This will help.
Here’s what worked for me:
Create a family subscription and simply add a free account to it - > login with that free account and it worked with the shared quota of the Google AI PRO. Hope this helps, anything else I thought and checked online worked.
Even though I’ve verified it, I still can’t access Antigravity.
I just use Antigravity 2.0, I’m facing this issue and when I try your way from step 2, I’m not getting any QR codes for me to verify the account !!
What shall I do then !?
I am having the same issues, my pro plan is still very active, how do i resolve this
Same thing for me used the CLI got the link opened it in browser and it said verification successful but i still get the same verification required issue
Update: got a new link from AGY and this time QR code showed up, if you just get the success message without scanning a QR code it wont work keep trying again until you get a QR code
I scanned that QR code with my phone, but it didn’t work, even though I had never scanned it before.
