Antigravity CLI OAuth Blocked: "Eligibility check failed" / "Couldn't verify account" Loop

Environment:

  • OS: Windows

  • Tool: Antigravity CLI

  • Account Type: Personal Google Account (Google AI Plus plan)

Description of Issue: For the past 48 hours, I have been unable to authenticate with the Antigravity CLI. Upon providing the OAuth code back to the CLI, it returns the following error:

Eligibility Check ⎿ Eligibility check failed: Your current account is not eligible for Antigravity. Verify your account to continue. Alternatively, try signing in with another personal Google account. Please verify your account in your browser to continue: [URL]

When opening that verification URL in the browser, it immediately fails with the message:

“We couldn’t verify the account and something went wrong.”

Troubleshooting Steps Already Taken:

  • Renamed/cleared the local .gemini configuration folder to force a fresh state.

  • Attempted authentication in both standard (fully logged in) and private/incognito browser windows.

  • Attempted opening the verification link on a secondary device (iPhone).

  • Confirmed my account phone number is fully verified and actively receiving 2FA “G-codes” without issue.

  • Revoked previous CLI access tokens via the Google Account Connections page.

  • Verified system time and timezone settings are accurately synced.

  • Waited 24+ hours between attempts to ensure I am not hitting a temporary security rate limit.

I am completely locked out of the CLI despite having a standard personal account. Is there a known backend issue with certain accounts getting flagged by the risk engine, or a manual way to clear this authentication block? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Could you please follow these steps:

1. Verify Your Account Age Eligibility:

Antigravity strictly requires accounts to be verified as 18+ (see Antigravity FAQ).

2. Open the Verification Link in Incognito:

When you open the verification URL, Google’s auth endpoint often evaluates the default profile rather than the target account if multiple accounts are logged in.

  1. Copy the verification URL generated by the CLI.
  2. Open an Incognito / Private Window.
  3. Log in only to your personal Google AI Plus account.
  4. Paste the verification link and approve.

3. Check Country Association:

Visit policies.google.com/terms (scroll to the bottom) and ensure your account is associated with a supported country (such as India).

I checked my date of birth, age verification (validated with an ID), and country, and everything looks correct. However, I am still facing the same issue—Antigravity displays “Eligibility check failed.”

When I open the URL in incognito mode, it shows a QR code. Scanning that QR code on my phone yields the following error: “Something went wrong and we couldn’t verify your info. To complete verification, try going through the steps again.”
