Hi everyone,
After the recent Google AI Studio update, I’m trying to understand the reasoning behind some workflow changes.
Previously:
-
We had a Reset button to cleanly restart context
-
We could save/export projects and treat them like ongoing working environments
Now:
-
Reset option appears removed
-
Projects feel session-based and cannot be preserved the same way as before
Because of this, AI Studio feels less like a controllable development workspace and more like a temporary chat environment.
I’m genuinely curious about the design perspective behind this:
-
Is this due to infrastructure cost or scaling?
-
A safety/context-handling decision?
-
Encouraging migration to API/Vertex workflows?
-
Or a change in how prompts are internally versioned?
Would really appreciate clarification from the Google team and insights from the community on how you’re adapting your workflow.
