AI Studio unavailable after login despite connecting from Germany

Hello,

I am trying to access Google AI Studio and Gemini from Germany, but I receive the message that the service is not available in my region.

My setup:

  • German IP address (Frankfurt, Germany)

  • Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1 / 1.0.0.1)

  • No DNS leaks

  • No WebRTC leaks

  • Browser geolocation disabled

  • AI Studio page loads normally before authentication

The issue appears only after signing into my Google account.

Additional observations:

  • The same account activity page still references previous locations associated with the account history.

  • DNS resolution for aistudio.google.com and gemini.google.com works correctly.

  • Network connectivity to Google services is normal.

Could someone clarify:

  1. What factors are used to determine regional eligibility for AI Studio and Gemini?

  2. Can account history, payment profile country, or historical account region affect eligibility even when connecting from a supported country?

  3. Is there a way to verify which account attribute is causing the restriction?

  4. Is there a process to request a review of an incorrect regional classification?

I am trying to understand whether this is an account-level issue or a network-level issue.

Thank you.

Hello @Dmitrii_Demekhin ,

This could be specific to your IP address. Please report it on our Report IP problems page. Suggested workarounds which may help for now:

  • Try temporarily switching to a different network (e.g. try with the hotspot from your phone if available).
  • Try asking your host for a new IP.
  • Trying switching between IPv6 / IPv4.
