AI Studio: "Failed to create user snapshot" when Agent accesses project files

Hello Google AI Studio team,

I am experiencing a project-specific issue in Google AI Studio Build.

My existing project opens normally and the application Preview is working correctly. However, whenever the Gemini Agent attempts to inspect or access any project file, the request enters an endless processing loop and eventually shows errors such as:

“Failed to create user snapshot.”

and sometimes:

“Failed to create snapshot: service is unavailable. Please try again later.”

I have performed several tests to isolate the issue:

  1. The affected project opens normally.

  2. The application Preview works normally.

  3. A prompt that does NOT require access to project files works immediately.
    Example:
    “Reply only with: OK. Do not inspect or modify any files.”
    Result: Gemini replied “OK” in about 1 second.

  4. A minimal read-only prompt that requires access to only one project file fails.
    Example:
    “Inspect only package.json and reply with only the value of the start script.
    Do not modify any file.
    Do not run any command.”

    Result:
    The Agent enters the processing loop and reports:
    “Failed to create user snapshot.”

  5. I tested the affected project in an Incognito/Private browser session.
    Result: same problem.

  6. I changed the Chat model from Gemini 3.8 Flash to Gemini 3.7 Flash.
    Result: same problem.

  7. I tested another Google AI Studio project using the same account/browser.
    Result: the other project works normally.

Therefore, the issue appears to be specific to the snapshot/file-access state of this particular AI Studio project, rather than a general browser, account, prompt, or Gemini model issue.

This is an active software development project and I would strongly prefer not to use Remix, Rollback, Restore, or delete/recreate the project because the current project state is important.

Could you please investigate the user snapshot state for this project and advise whether it can be repaired/reset server-side without changing or losing the current project files/version/history?

I can provide screenshots of the exact error if needed.
