The problem was this extension:

I turned off Brave Shield for the website, then retried, and it worked.

With Firefox I had to disable uBlock Origin for it to work.
You also need to disable privacy rules in brave.
Getting it today and for past 2 days. Driving me mad. I get either this or internal error. Still takes my tokens though. It’s also been giving me back the exact same images with no edits done all weekend, despite claiming it’s “thinking” and has edited them perfectly.
No answer google? using tokens still for this service?
Any updates on that issue? It started recently for me too but only on my phone, irrespective of what browser I use, and it’s very irritating because I cannot figure out why this occurs, and the only workaround to this that I figured out (close the ai studio tabs fully, restart the browser, go to the ai studio page, do nothing for a few seconds, paste back in your prompt, wait a few seconds before sending the prompt) is inconsistent
Gonna add that it actually happens on my PC too, just much less frequently, and disabling Ublock Origin (both on my iPhone and on my PC for AI Studio) does not do anything to solve it
I may have found a workaround for this issue: If you get a permission denied error, try to switch accounts but choose your google account that you were already using, it’s been working consistently for me

EDIT: Turn off your adblocker and it should work.
Turning off adblocking was one of the first things I tried. Didn’t work.
