AI Studio Build Agent says “Quota exceeded” despite Paid Tier 1 and 0/30 Antigravity usage

I am experiencing a persistent “Quota exceeded. Please try again later.” error in Google AI Studio Build.

My Google Cloud project is Paid Tier 1 with an active billing account and available prepaid balance.

However, AI Studio Build/Antigravity repeatedly fails with:

“Quota exceeded. Please try again later.”

My AI Studio Rate Limit dashboard currently shows:

  • Gemini API Rate Limit: Tier 1
  • Antigravity RPM: 0 / 30
  • TPM: 0 / 200K
  • RPD: 0 / 1K

The displayed quota is therefore not exhausted.

Normal Gemini usage is available, but AI Studio Build is unable to continue working on my project.

The problem is happening while I am working on a React/TypeScript SaaS application in AI Studio Build. The Build Agent was previously working normally, but now it repeatedly returns the quota error.

I have already checked the billing status and the AI Studio Rate Limit dashboard. The displayed usage does not explain the error.

Could the AI Studio team please investigate:

  1. What exact quota/metric is being exceeded?
  2. Is AI Studio Build/Antigravity using a separate quota that is not visible in the standard Rate Limit dashboard?
  3. Is my Paid Tier 1 entitlement correctly attached to the Build Agent?
  4. Which Google Cloud project/consumer project is actually being used for the failing Build request?
  5. Could there be an account-level, project-level, or model-provider entitlement issue?

I can provide my Google Cloud Project ID, AI Studio App ID, screenshots, and timestamps via DM if required.

Please investigate whether the Build Agent quota/entitlement needs to be reset or corrected.

Paid Tier 1 here as well. Worth checking the TPM column on your project’s rate-limit dashboard right after the failure, not just RPM. Mine showed 2.44M / 2M on Gemini 3.8 Flash. Opening a New chat in the same app and waiting 60-90 seconds got me unstuck. Details:

Hello @Shifat,

Please try the below steps:

  • Check the Usage section in the AI Studio Build mode chat settings to verify that a paid Gemini API key from your Tier 1 project is selected, as AI Studio uses free tier requests unless a paid API key is linked (Google AI Studio billing FAQ).
  • Start a new chat in your existing app instead of retrying in the same conversation thread (your existing application files remain intact).
  • If the issue persists after selecting your paid API key and starting a new chat, please share your Applet ID and a screenshot of the Build chat settings Usage section via direct message.
