# AI Studio Build Agent repeatedly returns "Invalid argument" error for 4 days

Hello Google AI Studio Team,

I have been experiencing a persistent issue with the **Google AI Studio Build Agent for the last 4 days**.

The Build Agent was working normally before this issue started. I was actively developing an Android application and the project was progressing successfully. However, for the last 4 days, **almost every command now fails with an “Invalid argument” error**.

The issue happens even with very simple commands that do not require any code modification.

I have already tried:

- Different prompts/commands
- Different Gemini models
- Simple read-only project inspection commands
- Retrying the request multiple times
- Starting commands again after previous failures

The behavior is consistently similar:

1. Send a command to the Build Agent.
2. The agent appears to process it for several seconds.
3. After approximately 10 seconds, the operation stops.
4. The status changes to **“Ran for 0s”**.
5. It then shows **“Invalid argument”**.
6. The project remains inaccessible to the Build Agent for further work.

This is especially concerning because the application was already substantially built before the issue started. I do not want to recreate the project or make unnecessary changes to the existing files because the problem appears to be with the Build Agent rather than the application code.

**Please investigate whether there is currently a server-side, Build Agent, project-session, or tool/API issue causing these repeated “Invalid argument” failures.**

I would also appreciate confirmation of whether existing projects affected by this issue are safe and whether there is a recommended workaround.

Thank you for sharing this.

Would it be possible for you to try to restore your app to a previous version and verify if the app is working?

1. Open the **Version history** tab in the right-hand panel of AI Studio Build Mode and test reverting back to a checkpoint prior to when the error first started 4 days ago.

Please reach out to us if this does not resolve the issue.
