429 "prepayment credits are depleted" on funded Prepay balance — manual billing sync request

Requesting a manual billing sync. Billing account: 01A9B2-A3D73C-255972 (Cloud Prepay, Tier 1) Credit balance: R$ 392,15 — R$ 400,00 added 29 July 2026, shown as settled in the AI Studio billing console. Projects affected: gen-lang-client-0444661.., gen-lang-client-0897329.. (both show “No credits” in the Projects page) Every generateContent call returns: 429 RESOURCE_EXHAUSTED — “Your prepayment credits are depleted.” models.list() works normally and the API key belongs to the correct project. Only generation is refused. The issue persists several hours after the top-up settled.

Note: There is no manual billing sync process.

This error typically occurs if there is a brief processing delay after a top-up settles, or if your AIS prepaid wallet balance is $0 despite having active Cloud promotional credits.

Next steps:

  • Check your AIS billing page (https://aistudio.google.com/billing) to confirm your AIS prepaid wallet balance

  • If your wallet shows a positive balance, retry your API calls directly (or generate a fresh API key if 429 errors persist locally)

  • If your wallet shows $0, deposit at least $10 (or the minimum top-up amount in your currency) to activate credit usage
